The US according to NYC. The one Funny or Die one seemed lame to me, so I made my own from my own experience. I want to do a California one, because I lived there a while and it is pretty easy.

For some reason, after my “Understanding Terrorism” post went crazy with notes, this one, which had been sitting dead for two weeks took off, too. I have had fun looking through the first thousand notes, and have seen some interesting and hilarious patterns with certain states. I thought I would share.

California “LALALAND”: No state was more proud, and almost always embraced the name and said something to the effect of “I would never live anywhere else.”

Connecticut “Rich People”: No state was more consistently pissed off. They did not think it was funny.

Pennsylvania “Amish”: I was surprised that hardly anyone cared to point out that Philly was totally ignored, and most got a laugh out of the Amish thing. There were some who pointed out as well that New Jersey really did have bad drivers, and New York, too.

New Jersey “Bad Drivers”: Split between those who agreed (some of them, acting as if it said “Bad-ASSED Drivers,” as in people from New York just can’t handle it) and that it is New Yorkers who are the bad drivers.

Wisconsin “Cheese”: Pretty much the same thing: Yes, everyone thinks of us as cheese. I can live with that.

Illinois “It’s so cute how Chicago thinks it’s big”: Wounded Chicago pride, but not a single person to say, “Hey, there is more to Illinois than Chicago!” Maybe there isn’t…

Ohio “Nowhere”: As I pointed out in another post, something along the lines of: Meh, yeah it’s nowhere.
